Kim Bell
Ballet
Kim Bell was born and raised in Washington, DC and is a resident of Rockville, Maryland. She began her dance training at the tender age of five years old and received her professional Ballet training from the Alvin Ailey Dance Center, the American Contemporary Ballet, Jones-Haywood School of Ballet, The Dance Theatre of Harlem, and the Montgomery School of Ballet. Kim received her teaching training in the Royal Academy of Dancing Syllabus and the Cecchetti Method. She is a dance educator, director and coordinator of dance programs and is a seasoned Ballet dancer. As a dance educator, she has shared and given twenty years of her service to the dance community (eight of those years serving Bethseda, Rockville, and Potomac) through early childhood education in dance. Kim designs child care dance enrichment programs, Ballet workshops, dance intensives for teens and has coached pre-professional gymnasts in Ballet for major competitions. Her work has been and is most successful in the development of young children in Ballet. She has written several children's Ballets and short stories for special dance programs as well as staging Ballets including Swan Lake and her annual Nutcracker. This summer Kim was the choreographer for Disney's Aladdin Jr. at BAPA's Imagination Stage in Bethesda, Maryland. A skilled dancer, teacher, choreographer, and coach, Kim's graceful demeanor and exact professionalism are qualities that all of her students can model. Parents prize Kim for her warm personality, patience and rapport with their children, even more for her unique ability to carefully advance her students in a gentle and timely fashion. One of Kim's greatest asset is her character. This quality sets her apart from her peers.
