Tommy Smith
Salsa/Mambo
Tommy Smith is an accomplished instructor, teaching aspects of the mind, body, and soul. He excels in Latin dancing, hand dancing, karate, metaphysical yoga, and nutrition. Mr. Smith is well known in the Washington Metro dance community as a teacher of dance courses at Club Crush, The Mambo Room, and Chief Ike's. He is an active member in the Catskills New York International Dance Organization. In the late 1970's, Mr. Smith won the Central American Championship in Karate and ardently follows the holistic, natural laws of meditation and nutrition.
Mr. Smith's social dance course is designed to teach basic dance steps and skills to those interested in a well-rounded dance repertoire. Its main goal is to interject the fun back into dance, while eliminating body insecurity, and further increase your fitness level all at the same time. This course will teach four dances guaranteed to promote basic efficiency on the dance floor. The course will include a history of social dancing, repetition of basic steps to perfection, and the introduction of some common but more advanced techniques such as turns pivots, steps, and shortcuts.
