Modern
Collective modern dance technique class is designed to expose dancers to a variety of fundamental modern dance techniques and movement qualities; thereby helping dancers articulate and express movement of the body more effectively. The blend of Graham technique contract and release, Humphrey-Weidman technique fall and recovery, and Horton technique will help build strength, flexibility and coordination. Pilates will also be incorporated, to aid in building and maintaining a strong center as you move through space. Improvisation and contact improvisation is built into this class to allow dancers to explore, discover and increase the awareness of their bodies and how they naturally express movement using space, energy and time. Contact improvisation is intended to explore movement possibilities with a partner and other dancers.
