Kukuwa Nuamah is an internationally acclaimed African Dance Performer, African Dance Choreographer, Fitness Dance Instructor and Originator of Gye Nyame African Cultural Dance Company, and Kukuwa, Inc® of the Kukuwa Dance Workout®. Born and raised in Ghana West Africa, has been dancing since the age of 3. Coming from Africa, where dancing is part of their culture, Kukuwa has used her God given talents to bring her this far into forming two companies which she runs with the help of a few employees. She has over 20 years of cultural dance background which she incorporates into her work. She studied linguistics in Paris, France which helps her to communicate throughout all her international affairs. Kukuwa is an Adjunct Professor at the George Mason University where she teaches African Cultural Dance. Kukuwa presents her dance workouts via master class workshops to students at various gyms, fitness clubs, studios, and universities, cruises and resorts around the country. Kukuwa teaches children, teens, and adults (both men and women) the techniques of African Cultural Dancing. Kukuwa is very diversified in her knowledge of African dance which covers a vast array of African ethnic groups. Her dance troupe performs all over the USA at schools, corporations, cultural shows, multicultural festivals and more. She travels all over the USA, Europe, Asia and Africa presenting her Kukuwa Dance Workouts, and her African Dance Choreography. Kukuwa counsels clients through nutrition and exercise to achieve their fitness goals. In 2003 Kukuwa launched her KDW/LAC® Instructor Training Certification Program which trains instructors world-wide to teach her trademark patented style of dance fitness which is now nationwide. To date she has trained over 400 instructors (and still growing) with centers in USA, Europe, Asia, and Africa. Her dream is to educate both the dance and fitness world of what the true meaning of dance is and where it originates from in Africa which is her native background. In January 2005 she was endorsed by Oprah in 'O' Magazine, The Washington Post in October 2007, Allure in June 2007, Acacia in Fall 2006/2007, The Africa Report in October 2007, Essence in June 2008, People Magazine in November 2008, and has appeared on several major TV networks, Fox 5, NBC, ABC and LXTV. Her latest movie - "Get Him To The Greek will be featured in April 2010.
