Rachel Behrend

Rachel began dancing ballet at a young age at Interdance Ballet in Bethesda. She continued ballet at Salle Pleyel when she moved to Paris, France in 1999, and then at the Washington Ballet upon her return to the D.C. area. In 2002, Rachel decided to branch out her dancing to encompass jazz, modern, flamenco, and belly dance. She is currently a youth apprentice dancer in Debra Floyd's FloydProject Dance Company. After having lived in France, Chile, and the U.S., as well as having traveled to Asia, she appreciates the incorporation of dance forms from various cultures.

Jazz

Class begins with a warm-up in the center followed by stretching and creative improvisation. We will then do across-the-floor exercises, and conclude by dancing to, and learning a choreographed dance.
