Salsa/Mambo
Tommy Smith is an accomplished instructor, teaching aspects of the mind, body, and soul. He excels in Latin dancing, hand dancing, karate, metaphysical yoga, and nutrition. Mr. Smith is well known in the Washington Metro dance community as a teacher of dance courses at Club Crush, The Mambo Room, and Chief Ike's. He is an active member in the Catskills New York International Dance Organization. In the late 1970's, Mr. Smith won the Central American Championship in Karate and ardently follows the holistic, natural laws of meditation and nutrition.
Mr. Smith's social dance course is designed to teach basic dance steps and skills to those interested in a well-rounded dance repertoire. Its main goal is to interject the fun back into dance, while eliminating body insecurity, and further increase your fitness level all at the same time. This course will teach four dances guaranteed to promote basic efficiency on the dance floor. The course will include a history of social dancing, repetition of basic steps to perfection, and the introduction of some common but more advanced techniques such as turns pivots, steps, and shortcuts.

Mr Mambo has develop an easy learn it method that takes the student that is completely new to partner styles of dancing by breaking down the steps and musical rhythm in an unique walking style that is learn usually in the first class. The basic beginner skills consist of learning four basic turns and fundamentals:
Left and Right turns, Side stepping, Partnering and Cross body turns. There is No pressure or competing with other students we rotate within the classes so you will meet other students and feel comfortable in any social environment. We guaranteed that our classes will develop confidence and you will have fun in the process. We invite you to sign up now, you do not need a partner.
In a short period time you will be ready to move to our next level.

Intermediate and Advanced Students who want to develop styling, spins and intricate turns and patterns
At this level our emphasis is on timing and rhythm. Our goal is to educate, train and nurture the dancer that is within us by providing a supportive environment so that you will finally have the confidence to join the global dance community on anyone’s dance floor or club whether they are doing Salsa, Mambo or any of the Latin Social Dances.
